A simple way to interface TTL UARTS to RS-232 levels
The TTL232 is a simple driver for RS-232 levels, accepting I/O from 3.3V to 5.0V.
This makes it easy to interface old-school serial ports sometimes found on various industrial equipment.
On one side, the pins accept TX & RX from 3.3V up to 5.0V. Power is provided via the VIN pin. The NC pin (Not Connected) is there to match the interface from the Nautilus USB UART, as explained below.
On the other side, a standard DB-9 male connector is provided for hooking up to a common serial cable.
Note: Serial cable & wires are not included.
Broken out RS-232 I/O
To make it even easier to interface anything, the RS-232 RX & TX lines are broken out along with ground and VIN. Hook up some wire and talk to any device.
Made to fit the Nautilus
While the TTL232 is great on its own, it was designed specifically to fit the Nautilus USB UART - combine both and get a plug-and-play RS-232 serial port on any USB host.
